Kyiv – A Modern Bridge Between Europe and Asia

What do you call this city – Kyiv or Kiev? It doesn’t really matter, and frankly both ways are fine. The city itself is an ancient mix of cultures, with both strong traditions and a modern view on today’s world. Just a quick look at the riverside in Kyiv will paint the picture for you. Along the landscaped slopes appear the golden domes of ancient churches, huge monumental statues and modern business centres made of glass and steel. Here, everyone can find something of interest, whether it’s Slavic spiritual heritage, an evening with the Virsky national dance ensemble or a classy restaurant with breathtaking views over the mighty Dnieper.

The Kyiv Convention Bureau works diligently to create the most friendly and advantageous environment for meeting planners from all over the world.

Getting there is easy. Most European capitals have direct flights to Kyiv. A maximum of four hours in the air and you are ready to see this ancient city with a young soul. The capital of Ukraine has already started to win its rightful place among the world’s best travel destinations. According to Trip Advisor, Kyiv was the leading ‘Destination on the Rise’ in Europe and the number three worldwide in 2012. But this is not all that makes Kyiv worth visiting…

Foreigner-friendly

Another huge advantage is the visa situation. A matter of irritation for any traveller – business people or regular tourists – visas are unlikely to be a problem. The list of countries that do not require a visa for Ukraine is long. On the list are EU states, the US, Canada and many others.

New conventions capital of Eastern Europe

Almost 40 percent of all investment in Ukraine goes to Kyiv. The city itself was significantly transformed in preparation for hosting Euro 2012, and it therefore has the venues and infrastructure to host events of any kind. In order not to get lost and to get the best from this welcoming city, there is an organization that helps overseas meeting planners, associations and other business tourists to find suitable venues, book convenient hotels with the best rates and put forward proposals for a post-congress tour. The Kyiv Convention Bureau works diligently to create the most friendly and advantageous environment for meeting planners from all over the world. It is the first and only International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) member in Ukraine.

The highly qualified staff at the Kyiv Convention Bureau have huge experience in the field of conventions and other group meetings. They have helped organize a wide range of events, from beekeeper conventions to European ministerial councils. The bureau works in a close cooperation with all hotels in Kyiv and can find the most suitable one for every specific event in terms of quality, rates, conference services and location. The bureau adopts a personal approach to each case, whether searching for a small and cozy conference hall in a hotel or a venue to host an event for 15,000 people.

The largest exhibition and convention venue in Ukraine works in close cooperation with the Kyiv Convention Bureau. The silver-coloured roofs of the International Exhibition Center shine brightly in the daylight and can be seen from far away. But surely it’s not the roofing that attracts exhibition and meeting planners here! The total area available is 58,000 sq. m. and this includes modern conference halls.

The venue hosts the largest exhibitions in Ukraine and most of the major convention events. The bureau itself requires no fees from meeting planners, as the main goal is to make Kyiv into the new convention capital of Eastern Europe.
