Unique in this form: the city and center are pulling together. This is so in Nürnberg when it comes to conventions – and to the congress city Nürnberg. Together with the city’s Convention and Tourist Office, NürnbergMesse has set up an umbrella brand: NürnbergConvention. This has actively promoted the city as an event destination since the end of 2011. The cooperation concentrates congress activities and offers in North Bavaria’s metropolis. With its many event locations, congress hotels, large Convention Center and unique historical flair, Nürnberg is well equipped for all the requirements of national and international exhibition and congress organizers. “Nürnberg’s variety and good accessibility create a major location advantage for congress organizers. NürnbergConvention ensures that our guests find the best conditions for every event and outside the event too. Travel, accommodation and a coherent supporting programme transform a convention into an experience,” says Sabina Linke, Director International Acquisition and Marketing at NürnbergMesse and NürnbergConvention.

Economic experts, doctors, athletes and IT specialists – they all discuss, confer, exchange views and extend their training in the NürnbergConvention Center. The professional spectrum of congresses in Nürnberg’s largest event location ranges from the International Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians and the German ORACLE User Conference to large medical congresses. Guest events in the Franconian congress metropolis in 2013 include the Annual Conference of the Federal Association for Ambulatory Surgery to the German Anaesthesia Congress.

Also permanent features of the event portfolio are congress exhibitions like ConSozial, Germany’s leading trade fair and congress for the social services market with more than 5,000 visitors and some 260 exhibitors, and corporate events. Federal and regional party political conferences and lavish TV shows like Wetten, dass ..? (Wanna bet …?) are regular guests in the Nürnberg exhibition centre. Sport is on the agenda in autumn 2013, when the 41st Ordinary National Conference of the German Football Association meets in the NürnbergConvention Center.

Tailor-made meetings
The Convention Center offers extensive capacity with individual arrangements possible for large congresses of up to 11,000 visitors. The four building complexes of NCC Mitte, NCC West, NCC Ost and Frankenhalle provide more than 40 congress halls and conference rooms fitted with high-quality equipment for events of about 1,000 or more participants. The immediately adjacent exhibition halls of NürnbergMesse can be used for additional event elements like accompanying trade exhibitions. Events such as the International Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians with almost 5,000 participants utilize this facility. The adjacent day-lit halls accommodate major items on the congress programme: the participants gather information at the extensive industry exhibition in hall 7A and meet at the set gala dinner in hall 4A. Extra space will be available next year in the new hall 3A, which is to open in February 2014 in time for the Spielwarenmesse, the international toy fair.

But there’s more to the success of the events at the NürnbergConvention Center than just equipment and rooms: the all-round event support also makes a major contribution.
